Hi! I'm DJ Bill Bara, owner and head DJ for Modern Era Weddings! Sometimes searching for a DJ for your wedding can be overwhelming. With so many options on the internet, it's hard to really tell the difference between who is good and who is not. So I decided to simplify the process with my team of professionals. All of our DJs here at Modern Era Weddings are on another level. How do I know? I've worked with them all over the past decade and have witnessed each and every one of them rock huge crowds. Before Modern Era Weddings

I started my career as a nightclub DJ when I was 17 years old. I spent the next decade building my way up through the ranks learning from the best DJs in the city. After quickly gaining popularity from spinning in front of thousands in Pittsburgh dance clubs every week, I was voted Pittsburgh's Best Nightclub DJ in 2007. At the same time, a lot of my friends from school and the clubs began to get married and they called me to DJ their weddings. At first I denied all requests because weddings were not something nightclub DJs considered "cool," but after talking it over with my friends I quickly realized we were on the same page when it came to not wanting a lame wedding. Traditional elegance met modern flair and Modern Era Weddings was born!

Nightclub DJs vs Mobile DJs

All of our DJs are professional Nightclub DJs who perform at weddings! The difference between mobile DJs and Nightclub DJs is experience and talent level. There are only a handful of openings in Pittsburgh to play for huge crowds of people, and these venues are DJ'd by Pittsburgh's most talented DJs. The other hundreds others who buy speakers and become "mobile DJs," are also known as "hobbyists," These DJs perform for small private events on the weekends in addition to their fulltime weekday job. Most Nightclub DJs are fulltime DJs who DJ 3 or more times every week and have developed a skill set that sets them apart from traditional mobile DJs. All of our DJs are nightclub DJs who can mix music together beat by beat so there is never a stop in the music, they have the experience to read a crowd and play the right songs at the right time. Most importantly we provide professional organized DJs who treat your wedding as their top priority instead of treating your wedding as a weekend hobby.

An open format pioneer Digital Dave's been serving up rock with hip hop and house with 80's his entire career, unlike many DJ's who adopted the format recently when it became popular. DJ Hypnotyza: DJ Hypnotyza (Mark Raich) has been a fixture on the Pittsburgh DJ circuit for over 10 years, but his experience dates back even farther. Getting his start at small parties and campus events at Robert Morris University in the mid-90's and branching out to weddings and clubs soon after, he has seen it all and played it all! DJ Mad Mike: Mike Willis aka DJ Mad Mike is in his mid 20’s, originally from the DC area. He has DJ'd in cities such as Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Pittsburgh, and has also preformed in smaller markets up and down the east coast! Learn more here...

DJ Super Scott: DJ Super Scott was personally recruited by the owner of Modern Era Weddings, DJ Bill Bara, because Scott was responsible for most of the popular remixes he played at his weddings. DJ Jan Jursa: DJ Jan Jursa started DJing at local clubs & bars in the early 90’s. He has worked at many of the hottest nightclubs including Matrix, The Boardwalk, & Stratus in the city and currently rotates DJing at clubs on weekends. Jan has DJed for crowds in the thousands and for crowds of all different ages. He’s very good at mixing music from all genres together to keep the night flowing and the crowd excited. DJ Xavier: Xavier Maxwell is originally from the Nemacolin area and started out in the more technical aspects of events by doing an internship working with the AV and Events Department at Nemacolin Resort. He quickly realized that being the entertainment at the event was where he wanted to be and he switched from behind the scenes to DJing for huge events and crowds. Learn More Here...

DJ Scottro: DJ Scottro is currently the resident Saturday night DJ for Rivers Casino and is an on-air personality with the top 40 radio station 96.1 Kiss.
