Wedding DJ and Entertainment at Tyler Hill Camp
At Tyler Hill Camp, we have played breakfast music in the dining hall, taken music out to the docks and pool, and moved sound to the canteen after a reception. A weekend here can call for entertainment in several places, not just one DJ setup beside the dance floor.
At the September 2026 weekend we produced at Tyler Hill, breakfast was in the dining hall, games were on the field, and the welcome party occupied another location. We carried ceremony setups for the amphitheater, the dock and a field. Each gathering needed sound, and most needed someone on a microphone to guide the next event.
List the gathering places and their schedules before requesting an entertainment plan. The number of locations and any events running at the same time determine how many setups the weekend needs.
We have produced two weddings at Tyler Hill Camp. The September 2026 weekend required the following setups.
What the September 2026 weekend took
On that weekend we ran eleven separate sound positions across the property over four days:
- Social Hall, for a ceremony and the talent show, with music and lighting
- The docks, for a ceremony and a cocktail hour
- The pool, for the pool party
- The pickleball courts, for music during games
- The tennis courts, for late night
- The dining hall, covering breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, with lighting and the photo booth
- The field, for emceed field games with background music
- The canteen, for the late night parties
- An additional field ceremony setup
- The amphitheater, for a ceremony setup
- A truck bed, rigged for the Baraat parade
Ask the property to confirm the music end time for each night and space in writing before booking entertainment. We plan the music and transitions around those confirmed times, including how you want to use a second space after the reception.
The team also ran karaoke, emceed the field games, produced a talent show, played the reception, and played the after party.
How a camp weekend gets covered
Producing sound across the property means bringing in and setting up the equipment at each event location.
Everything for entertainment comes in with us; at each event location we need a table and a linen and nothing else from the property. Two of us covered that weekend, and we were on the property from the Thursday.
For your weekend, we map the gathering places, any overlapping events and the start time of the first event with you and the camp before we quote.
From the first setup to the pool party
At a four-day Tyler Hill Camp wedding, we installed sound first in the spaces that needed it first: the social hall for Thursday's dancing and Friday's talent show, then the dining hall for meals and Saturday's reception. Thursday included sound on the docks and music for Garba in the social hall.
Friday started with breakfast music before Mike emceed Color Wars. He spent approximately three hours rehearsing with the talent-show participants, then installed a speaker and stand in a truck for the Baraat. The procession paused outside the dining hall while guests got more drinks from a canoe before continuing to the Indian ceremony.
Saturday brought breakfast music and a pool party before the lakeside pavilion ceremony. We provided ceremony music and microphones, followed by music for cocktail hour on the docks. Guests then moved to the reception for a meal and dancing. The entertainment moved with the gathering rather than staying in one room all weekend.
The two weddings we have run here
Catherine and Michael, September 2023. We installed string lighting and pennants in the dining hall, then spent time with guests at karaoke in the canteen. Saturday began with breakfast music, and their ceremony used Beach Boys-themed music. After the dining hall reception, we moved the sound system to the canteen and continued the party.
Riley and Nilesh, September 2026. A four-day Indian fusion weekend with the wedding on the Saturday. Eleven sound positions, a Baraat run off a battery rig in a truck bed, an emceed field day, and a talent show.
Planning questions worth asking
These are the questions that actually change how a Tyler Hill weekend runs. We cannot answer all of them for you, because several depend on what the camp agrees to for your dates.
How many separate places will people gather? This is the number that sets everything else. A weekend with four gathering spots is a different production from one with eleven.
Where does each event go if it rains? Some events will have an indoor alternative and some will not, and which is which is decided by the camp for your dates. Ask for that list in writing before you build the schedule, event by event. Do not assume a space is available as a backup because it was used for something else on a different weekend.
Who is on the microphone between the events? The gap between a field game ending and dinner starting is where a weekend either flows or stalls. That is an emcee job, not a DJ job, and it needs to be someone's responsibility on paper.
What time does music have to stop? Confirm the camp's own limit for each night, and get it in writing before the timeline is built around it.
