DJ MadMike is the lead DJ and emcee of Modern Era Weddings, bringing about 20 years of DJ experience behind the decks and on the microphone. He joined Modern Era in 2012 and bought the company in 2015. He serves as both DJ and emcee at every event he hosts, so the music and the spoken program move as one, from the first introduction to the last dance.
From Pittsburgh ballrooms to beach ceremonies across Southwest Florida and the Florida Keys, he headlines our Signature Wedding Weekends, the multi-day destination format Modern Era is known for.

Modern Era Weddings was founded in 2009 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company expanded into South Florida and the Florida Keys in 2016 and now operates year-round teams in Southwest Florida, the Florida Keys, and Pittsburgh, with a destination-wedding division for the Berkshires, the Poconos, and the DC metro area.

Modern Era Weddings does not define its work by an annual event count. Signature Wedding Weekends exist because most weddings already span several days, but almost nobody designs the hours between the events. The team plans the full guest experience rather than treating the weekend as a collection of separate appointments.
Three things: (1) we specialize in Signature Wedding Weekends, full multi-day production rather than just a reception; (2) every event is led by a DJ who is also a trained emcee, so the music and the spoken program are tightly coordinated; and (3) we operate as one in-house team across DJs, lighting, photo, and live musicians, instead of subcontracting to outside vendors.
