Multi-stage music festival, designed around your love story.
A festival themed wedding from Modern Era Weddings is a 1 to 3 day outdoor or resort event built with festival production: multiple DJ stages, live acoustic sets, food-station villages, branded wristbands, and late-night dance floors. We have produced more than 25 festival-format weddings across Florida, the Poconos, and the Berkshires since 2021.
The work
Festival-themed weddings turn your wedding weekend into a curated mini music festival: multiple stages with different genres, custom artist wristbands and lanyards, food-truck vendor villages, lineup posters, and a programmed performance schedule from welcome night through farewell brunch. Modern Era handles the full festival-grade production — sound, lighting, MC programming, artist coordination, and stage logistics — so guests get the genuine festival energy without the festival logistics nightmare. The format scales from a single-stage Saturday reception with a curated 4–5 act lineup all the way up to a true three-stage weekend buildout with rotating headliners, silent disco room, and acoustic side-stage. The most common configuration we produce is a two-stage Friday-through-Sunday weekend: a main stage hosting the ceremony, the headlining reception sets, and the late-night DJ closer; plus an acoustic stage for welcome night, cocktail hour, and Sunday brunch. Custom branding pulls the festival aesthetic together — printed lineup posters in your wedding palette, custom wristbands and lanyards as the official guest pass, a festival-style program drop on arrival, and stage-edge banners with the couple's monogram. Food trucks and bar stations replace traditional plated catering; we work with your venue and caterer to map vendor placement, generator load, and wristband redemption. Production-wise we deliver concert-grade line array PA, fully programmed dance-floor and stage lighting, hazers and atmospheric effects, in-ear monitors for live acts, and a tour-style stage manager running cue-to-cue across the weekend. Live talent comes from our nine-piece dance band, DJ-and-percussion hybrid duos, solo acoustic acts for daytime sets, and partner artists we book in for surprise headliner moments. Modern Era also handles the unsexy festival glue: stage timing, transition music between acts, talent green rooms, set-list approvals, and a written run-of-show every artist signs off on so the day actually runs like a festival instead of just looking like one.

Common questions
About festival themed weddings.
How is this service priced?
Modern Era Weddings uses day-rate pricing rather than hourly billing — your DJ, photo, and video packages cover unlimited hours on the day of your event. Photo booth packages run a fixed 5 hours of active rental time (additional hours are available as an upgrade). Pricing depends on the artist or DJ you choose, venue location, equipment needs, and whether the service is part of a multi-event Signature Wedding Weekend. Every couple receives a custom quote within 24 hours of submitting a consultation request.
Where is this service available?
This service is available throughout Southwest Florida (Naples, Marco Island, Sarasota, Tampa, Fort Myers), the Florida Keys (Upper Keys: Key Largo & Islamorada; Middle Keys: Marathon & Duck Key; and Key West), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes regions of New York. Travel is also available for destination weddings in the Berkshires, the Poconos, the DC metro, and nationwide.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak season (October-May in Florida, May-October in Pittsburgh) we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. Off-season and short-notice bookings are accepted when availability allows.
People also ask
How much does a Modern Era Weddings DJ cost?
Modern Era Weddings uses day-rate pricing rather than hourly billing. Standard wedding DJ packages typically start around $2,500 and scale up with add-ons such as elevated lighting, photo booths, ceremony coverage, and live musicians. Multi-day Signature Wedding Weekend packages are quoted custom based on the number of events. Every package includes a professional emcee, premium sound, unlimited planning consultations, and our online planning portal.
Modern Era Weddings is based in Southwest Florida (Naples, Marco Island, Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Tampa, Clearwater, Fort Myers) and specializes in Florida Keys destination weddings across all three regions: the Upper Florida Keys (Key Largo and Islamorada), the Middle Florida Keys (Marathon and Duck Key), and Key West. We also serve Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes regions of New York, and select destinations in the DC metro, the Berkshire Mountains, and the Poconos. Destination wedding service is available in all 50 states.
A Signature Wedding Weekend is our flagship multi-day destination format. Instead of a single reception, we produce the full arc of the weekend, welcome cocktail party, ceremony, reception, after-party, pool or beach lounge, and farewell brunch, under one creative team with continuous DJ, emcee, and lighting coverage across every event.
Do you produce themed wedding weekends like summer camp or festival weddings?
Yes. Themed wedding weekends are one of our most-requested formats. We regularly produce summer camp themed weddings (our Camp Heinz template includes bunk assignments, color wars, bonfire programming, custom camp merch, hand-drawn camp maps, and morning megaphone announcements) and festival themed weddings (multi-stage line-ups, food-truck villages, lounges, branded wristbands, and late-night DJ sets). Every theme is layered on top of the same multi-day Signature Wedding Weekend production, one in-house team, continuous DJ and emcee coverage, and a cohesive creative arc from the Friday welcome through the Sunday farewell.
For peak Southwest Florida wedding season (October through May) we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. Florida Keys destination dates and Signature Wedding Weekends fill earliest because of the multi-day commitment. Same-year and short-notice bookings are accepted whenever availability allows.
