How is this service priced?
Modern Era Weddings uses day-rate pricing rather than hourly billing — your DJ, photo, and video packages cover unlimited hours on the day of your event. Photo booth packages run a fixed 5 hours of active rental time (additional hours are available as an upgrade). Pricing depends on the artist or DJ you choose, venue location, equipment needs, and whether the service is part of a multi-event Signature Wedding Weekend. Every couple receives a custom quote within 24 hours of submitting a consultation request.
Where is this service available?
This service is available throughout Southwest Florida (Naples, Marco Island, Sarasota, Tampa, Fort Myers), the Florida Keys (Upper Keys: Key Largo & Islamorada; Middle Keys: Marathon & Duck Key; and Key West), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes regions of New York. Travel is also available for destination weddings in the Berkshires, the Poconos, the DC metro, and nationwide.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak season (October-May in Florida, May-October in Pittsburgh) we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. Off-season and short-notice bookings are accepted when availability allows.
What is interactive guest entertainment at a wedding?
Interactive guest entertainment is hosted programming — custom trivia about the couple, music bingo, name-that-tune, and live game-show formats — delivered by a Modern Era host with full sound, TVs, and audience-participation hardware, designed to get every guest laughing and competing rather than passively watching.
How does custom wedding trivia work?
We build a fully custom trivia round about the couple — how they met, inside jokes, milestones, family lore — typically 15-25 questions with multiple choice answers. Guests play in teams using their phones, scores update live on screen, and the winning table gets a prize you choose during planning.
What is music bingo and when does it fit best in the timeline?
Music bingo plays 15-20 second song clips and guests mark their bingo cards by song title or artist. It's the most popular welcome-night format on a Signature Wedding Weekend — high energy, no awkward silences, and it works equally well for music nerds and casual listeners.
Are these formats hosted by your team or self-running?
Hosted live by a Modern Era entertainment host on a microphone — that's the whole point. The host runs the rounds, reads the questions, plays back the music, manages the scoring, and works the room so the energy stays up.
Do you bring TVs and equipment, or do we rent those separately?
We bring the TVs, the sound integration, the question-answer hardware, and the host. The package starts at $1,500 when added to any Modern Era DJ package — there's nothing for the venue or the couple to source separately.
