How is this service priced?
Modern Era Weddings uses day-rate pricing rather than hourly billing — your DJ, photo, and video packages cover unlimited hours on the day of your event. Photo booth packages run a fixed 5 hours of active rental time (additional hours are available as an upgrade). Pricing depends on the artist or DJ you choose, venue location, equipment needs, and whether the service is part of a multi-event Signature Wedding Weekend. Every couple receives a custom quote within 24 hours of submitting a consultation request.
Where is this service available?
This service is available throughout Southwest Florida (Naples, Marco Island, Sarasota, Tampa, Fort Myers), the Florida Keys (Upper Keys: Key Largo & Islamorada; Middle Keys: Marathon & Duck Key; and Key West), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes regions of New York. Travel is also available for destination weddings in the Berkshires, the Poconos, the DC metro, and nationwide.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak season (October-May in Florida, May-October in Pittsburgh) we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. Off-season and short-notice bookings are accepted when availability allows.
What kinds of non-traditional performers do you book?
Our non-traditional entertainment roster includes aerialists, LED dancers, stilt walkers, champagne servers, live painters, caricaturists, magicians, and surprise-and-delight acts. Each is curated to break up the timeline with a moment guests won't stop talking about.
Can we hire stilt walkers or aerialists for our wedding?
Yes. Stilt walkers (often as roving champagne servers during cocktail hour) and aerialists (silks, lyra, and acro performers for ceremony or reception centerpieces) are both regular bookings, subject to the venue having appropriate ceiling rigging and load-bearing capacity for aerial work.
How do live painters and caricaturists work at receptions?
A live wedding painter sets up an easel during the ceremony or cocktail hour and produces a finished painting of the moment by the end of the reception. Caricaturists work a station during cocktail hour and reception, producing personalized sketches guests take home as favors.
Are these performers part of the Modern Era roster or external?
Most non-traditional acts are curated from a vetted partner network rather than full-time Modern Era roster, but every act is booked through us and contracted into your wedding production. You get a single point of contact for the entire entertainment line-up.
How is non-traditional entertainment priced?
Non-traditional acts are quoted per act based on the talent, set length, and travel. There's no set per-hour rate — a stilt-walking champagne service is priced very differently from a 10-minute aerial centerpiece routine.
