Who is DJ MadMike?
DJ MadMike is the owner and lead DJ of Modern Era Weddings, an emcee, auctioneer, and game-show host who's spent over a decade building destination weddings, multi-day Signature Wedding Weekends, and high-energy receptions across Florida, Pittsburgh, and the East Coast.
MadMike is the owner and lead DJ of Modern Era Weddings. He started with the company in 2012, bought it in 2015, and expanded it in 2016 into what it is today. Along the way he's become the producer couples request most for destination and multi-day events, and he's been the face of the brand across The Knot, WeddingWire, YouTube, and TikTok for over a decade.
On a wedding day he covers a few jobs that most companies split between different people. He runs the music from start to finish, open-format sets that read the room through the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the whole reception. He works the room as emcee, moving guests through introductions, toasts, the first dance, parent dances, cake, bouquet, and whatever custom moments the couple wants. On Signature Wedding Weekends he hosts the interactive stuff: game shows, charity auctions, and sing-alongs that get people up and involved instead of just watching the night happen.
He books most often in the Florida Keys, Naples, Pittsburgh, the Berkshires, and the Poconos, along with full destination weddings anywhere in the world. For multi-day events he travels with his own backup gear and a second tech, so one piece of equipment going down never takes the party with it.
